The Software Engineering team is seeking an experienced Perl developer to help develop our next generation production platform which is used to deliver data products to clients like Microsoft, Google, TiVo, Time Warner, IMDB, and more.

Responsibilities

• Act as a senior technical resource for TMS IT and Operations staff; stay abreast of current technology
• Ensure business continuity of selected production software applications, databases and products
• Analyze business objectives, customer requests, new product proposals and submissions for operational efficiencies
• Serve as the team leader for selected departmental and cross-departmental projects
• Design applications, database and product solutions that satisfy business objectives and customer requirements
• Estimate project resource allocations and timelines
• Issue thorough documentation for each phase of technical development
• Code application software and databases
• Assure quality through a controlled testing phase
• Implement solutions in live environment
• Review and approve product specifications to assure quality standards; periodically examine product code
• Troubleshoot/maintain existing software and databases

QUALIFICATIONS

• BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, related field or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 5 years experience designing/coding software, with at least 2 of those using Perl and SQL
• Demonstrated leadership, communications, organizational and problem solving skills; team player
• Proven analytical, development, software, database, user support and troubleshooting skills
• Working knowledge of several of the following technologies: XML, Linux, OOA&D, Java, SOA
• Experience in production environment; customer-centric; deadline driven
