TMS To Consolidate Its Crossword Puzzle Syndication

CHICAGO—February 3, 2009--Tribune Media Services (TMS) has announced that it is consolidating its traditional daily and Sunday crossword puzzle syndication into a single franchise: the Los Angeles Times Daily and Sunday crosswords.  TMS currently syndicates both the L.A. Times puzzles, edited by Rich Norris and Joyce Nichols Lewis, and THE Sunday and Daily Crosswords by Wayne Williams.

The move strengthens the highly popular L.A. Times brand and enhances TMS' puzzle lineup. Additionally, TMS will now offer six Daily Commuter Crosswords and a Sunday TV Crossword by Jackie Mathews, a longtime crossword puzzle creator and expert in the field.

TMS represents a variety of games & puzzles for print, online and mobile applications, as well as licensed products. Among this 25-feature roster (http://www.tmsfeatures.com/games-puzzles/) are a variety of crosswords, Sudoku puzzles and the popular scrambled word game Jumble®.
