USA TODAY joins McClatchy-Tribune's International News Service
CHICAGO, November 6, 2009—McClatchy-Tribune Information Services (MCT), a joint venture of the McClatchy and Tribune companies, today announced the incorporation of USA TODAY into MCT’s international offerings and services. Effective January 1, 2010, USA TODAY content will be made available through MCT to customers outside the United States.
MCT will move stories and images about U.S. news from America’s newspaper, USA TODAY. USA TODAY is one of the most widely read newspapers in the United States. Every day more than 5.8 million people rely on USA TODAY and USATODAY.com to get fair, balanced and complete coverage in a concise and quick-to-read format. USA TODAY also has exclusive stories and the latest headlines in news, money, sports and life.
“With millions of daily readers and some of the best U.S., business, sports and lifestyle news in America, MCT is pleased to offer USA TODAY to our international customers,” said Walter Mahoney, vice president of global information for McClatchy-Tribune Information Services.

MCT provides news articles, feature stories, photos, graphics, illustrations, caricatures, themed content packages and paginated products. MCT material is produced with contributions from more than 600 contributors worldwide, as well as by its own staff in the United States and Europe. MCT supplies content to more than 1,200 media clients across the country and internationally, and is a major provider of content to online information services. MCT products are marketed worldwide by Tribune Media Services (TMS), the global content-licensing unit of the Tribune Company.
Last month, MCT also announced the incorporation of Los Angeles Times content into the MCT service. This move, along with the inclusion of USA TODAY, will make MCT the world’s leading supplemental news service.
